About Me
Hi. I’m Amanda. You’ve committed to clicking through several web pages to get here and let me be the first to say, “welcome” and “thank you” and “How are you holding up? How are the kids?”
I was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio. I came out as queer at 16 while attending an all girls catholic school… Because of course I did. While in High School, I performed in every school play and community theater production I could. Me and my friends were those kids who would make weird homemade horror movies on the weekends and rarely went to parties. I graduated with honors (probably, I don’t remember) in 2005 and quickly left Ohio for New York… Well, western New York. It’s like New York City but with none of the people, culture or sewer rats.
After graduating from Alfred University with a degree in theater, I worked a fair number of odd jobs, including: Elf at Macy’s Santaland in NYC, Tour boat photographer, box office employee on a cruise ship, tour guide at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA and many more.
I graduated from the writing program at the Second City Training Center in Chicago and I’ve been writing screenplays and teleplays since 2009. I love writing and cannot imagine doing anything else. You will always find 1 of 2 things in my writing; A strong female character or an LGBT character. Most of the time, you’ll find both.
