"Gay & Stranded" Trailer is Here!

Last June, in the midst of the pandemic, I started to brainstorm how to continue to make content from home. Animation has always been something I’ve been interested in but had never really had the time or patience to sit down and learn it.

With nothing but time in 2020, I decided to try to make an animated pilot!

I knew I wanted to write about a group of queer women and after an night of playing “Animal Crossing”, I decided to put these women on an island away from the pandemic and the real world we were all living in. Once I had the concept, I spent time writing it and in January, I started the process of learning an animation program.

In March, I got on Zoom with each cast member and directed the actors as they recorded from their own homes. Each actor had vastly different recording equipment so sound mixing the final product will be a challenge but we were all able to pull together and make it safely.

It has been the hardest creative challenge I’ve ever had and also a very rewarding one. And today, I released the trailer for the pilot:
